Stone Town, the historical heart of Zanzibar, features beautifully preserved buildings. Visitors can explore various sites, including the Wonder House, the Old Fort, Forodhani Gardens, the Cathedral, the spice market, and a few museums, including one dedicated to the famous singer Freddie Mercury, who was born in Zanzibar. Most of these historical structures were built using coral stones.

Mnemba Island is particularly well-known for snorkeling and offers opportunities to swim with dolphins. Other popular water activities include swimming with turtles at the aquarium, enjoying sunset sailing, and horseback riding along the beach. Stone Town is also a perfect place to buy souvenirs.
