GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

Because I was born and raised in Tanzania, I grew up with the idea of taking responsibility for contributing to the development of my country.Our company KILIMANJARO INTERNATIONAL SAFARI TOURS, a family owned and operated business has been the vehicle to carry forward the fulfillment of this responsibility.Due to our ongoing involvement in the tourist industry in Tanzania, we are aware of the social and economic problems that Tanzanians face daily.We have accepted the responsibility of contributing to the solutions of some of these problems.We became involved in assisting schoolchildren of the many areas that we visit with our tourists, among them Mlandizi village. We became aware of the dire need for clean water. We began to solicit contributions to construct a well for the village. This village was depending on a “make-shift” well that supplied hazardous toxic potentially disease infested water. We hired a geologist and an engineer who performed a hydrogeologic/geophysical survey for groundwater. They informed us that the well would have to be 536 feet deep to reach clean water.We achieved our goal in September 2019. As a result, 10,000 residents of Mlandizi village have clean water.We have made a special effort to assist children with disabilities. This effort has included providing wheelchairs and assisting in the building of classrooms having easy access for disabled children.We have also provided adults with wheelchairs and reading glasses.Please join us in our efforts to improve the lives of people who express sincere appreciation.
