After breakfast, you will head west out of Arusha on a drive (2.00 - 2.5 hrs) to Tarangire National Park.
“Tarangire boasts a vast number of baobabs that first capture the eye as you enter Tarangire National Park. The gently rolling countryside is dotted with these majestic trees, which seem to dwarf the animals that feed beneath them. Tarangire National Park covers approximately 2,600 square kilometers and, in the dry season, is second only to the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area in concentrations of wildlife. The park is spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species come back to the permanent waters of the Tarangire River. Huge herds of elephants gather to stay in Tarangire until the onset of the rains when they migrate again to new grazing areas”.

Day 03 Full day in Tarangire National Park
Early game drives in the morning to see the sunrise, spend the entire morning game viewing return to camp for leisure breakfast and short rest. After rests continue with game viewing to the southern part of the park and visit Silale swamps, this remote swamp is an absolutely fascinating place to visit.
The swamp covers an area of some 70 square kilometers and it acts like a sponge. During the rainy season, water is stored here and in the dry season, the swamp slowly releases water into the Tarangire River. The swamp is green for the majority of the year and it makes for an incredibly beautiful backdrop to the dry land surrounding it. To truly appreciate this place, you have to go there in the dry season.
There is a picnic site at the swamp that looks out over the expanse of the park. As you had lunch overlooking the swamp, you will saw what looked like a hundred large boulders in between the grass which will be your first impression. After picking up a pair of binoculars revealed that the boulders were actually elephants, continues exploring the park late evening return to Campsite for overnight.

Elephants feed off fallen fruit while bushbuck, waterbuck, baboons, aardvark, civet, the shy pangolin and leopard, all make their home in the forest. Lake Manyara is a magnet for birdlife and a kaleidoscope of different species can be found around its shores, including huge flocks of flamingoes.
